The POCO F6 with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the realme GT 6T with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 are two of the most powerful smartphones in the ₹30,000 segment. So, it only makes sense for us to compare them and see which is the better-performing champ in the segment.

Let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of these two devices by comparing their performance through synthetic benchmarks and a BGMI test. Here’s a quick rundown of the tests we’ll look at:

  • 50 Thread, 30 Minutes Throttling Test
  • AnTuTu v10
  • AnTuTu Storage Test
  • 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme
  • Geekbench CPU
  • BGMI Tests

Disclaimer: Synthetic benchmarks don’t necessarily reflect real-world performance. A slight difference in the scores may not even be noticeable in real-world usage.

Throttling Test

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

The POCO F6 and the realme GT 6T both run a bit hot. However, the POCO F6 does it while sustaining a lot of its performance while the realme GT 6T sacrifices both performance and the thermals.

I ran a 50 thread, 30 minute throttling test on both devices under a fan and the POCO F6 throttled to 84% of its performance with an average GIPS score of 374,656. The device temperature was 44.7 °C.

Running the same test on the realme GT 6T gave very surprising results. The GT 6T’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 throttled to 57% of its performance with an average GIPS score of 322,649. The device temperature was 43.2 °C.

Overall, POCO was running slightly hotter but it sustained the performance better than realme did.

AnTuTu v10

Now, on to AnTuTu v10, the POCO F6 scored a notable 1,364,174. The realme GT 6T, on the other hand, scored 1,503,559. While the realme GT 6T’s scores are higher, it tends to throttle this performance more than the F6 does.

AnTuTu Storage Test

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

Both the POCO F6 and the realme GT 6T have 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, so the difference is quite minute here. The POCO F6 scored 170,967 in the AnTuTu storage test and the realme GT 6T scored 172,483. The difference is not worth declaring a winner.

3D Mark Wild Life Extreme

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

In 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme, the POCO F6 scored higher than the realme GT 6T at 2,823. If you are wondering about the GT 6T, it scored 2,737 in the same test. Notably, when I ran the Sling Shot Extreme test, the realme GT 6T scored 11163 while the POCO F6 maxed out.

Geekbench CPU

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

Now, let’s look at the Geekbench CPU scores. The POCO F6 scored 1739 for single-core and 4304 for multi-core. In comparison, the realme GT 6T scored 1841 for single-core and 4673 for multi-core.

While the realme GT 6T may have higher scores in some tests, the POCO F6 delivers better sustained performance.

BGMI Test

Finally, I ran a BGMI test on both smartphones to see how they handle gaming. Starting with the HDR + Extreme settings, the realme GT 6T delivered an average of 37.3fps and reached a temperature of 42.7°C. On the other hand, the POCO F6 achieved a smoother 54.3fps but ran slightly hotter at 45°C

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

Switching to the Smooth + Extreme graphics setting, the realme GT 6T averaged 51.7fps with a temperature of 42.8°C, while the POCO F6 maintained a higher frame rate of 52.6fps, though it became warmer at 46.5°C.

POCO F6; realme GT 6T

Unfortunately, there was no 90fps option. Additionally, the POCO F6 drained the battery quite a bit faster than the realme GT 6T during gaming.

Despite the realme running slightly cooler, the POCO F6 provided more FPS and also had fewer frame drops. The realme GT 6T is also good if you are not a heavy gamer and if you care about thermals and battery life.

Conclusion

The POCO F6, with its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, has better-sustained performance and higher frame rates in gaming, albeit at the cost of slightly higher temperatures and faster battery drain.

Conversely, the realme GT 6T, powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, shows impressive benchmark scores and maintains cooler temperatures. It’s a good buy for those who prioritize battery life over maximum performance.
