Sharp Aquos R3 with 120Hz dual notch Screen, Snapdragon 855 SoC Goes Official

Last November, Sharp introduced the world’s first dual notch phone – Aquos R2 compact – and now it has unveiled its successor, the Aquos R3. Apart from the dual notch, the Aquos R3 specs-sheet makes a really exciting read. A few highlights include the Snapdragon 855 and 120Hz display.

Sharp Aquos R3 Specifications and Features

The Aquos R3’s main attraction is its 6.2-inches 5th-generation Pro IGZO display which has quad HD+ resolution (1440 x 3120 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen has cutouts at top and bottom, with the upper one featuring a selfie camera and the bottom one housing a fingerprint sensor for user authentication.

Under the hood, the Aquos R3 packs a Snapdragon 855 chipset clubbed with 6GB of RAM. The phone comes with 128 GB in-built storage. It runs on Android 9 Pie based custom software.

As for optics, the AQUOS R3 houses a 16.3-megapixel selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree field of view. Sharp has added AI beautification features for Selfies.

On the flip side, there is a dual camera setup with a 12.2-megapixel primary camera coupled with a 20MP 125-degree super-wide angle sensor. The phone comes with autofocus, OIS and image quality engine. Additional features like deep focus, EIS, AI live shutter and AI live story are also on board.

It is aided by a 3,200mAh battery with fast charging and 11W Qi standard wireless charging support. Sharp has also equipped the phone with Dolby powered stereo speakers.

The AQUOS R3 pricing and availability details are yet to be revealed.
