Samsung One UI 5.0: Roll-out Date

Samsung has already rolled out the beta variant of the One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 for some of its select devices like the Galaxy S22 Series. The final update will roll out in the coming weeks, although a specific date hasn’t been announced. The One UI 5.0 is expected to roll out towards the end of October or the beginning of November.

Which Samsung devices will get One UI 5.0?

The Galaxy S22 Series will be the first to get One UI 5.0 followed by Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy S21 Series after it.

Samsung One UI 5.0 with Android 13: New features

Android 13 is a very minor update over Android 12, but Samsung has bought a couple of tweaks to its new UI. One of the biggest changes is a revamped Lockscreen, that supports new clock styles, video wallpapers, and more. These can be edited from the Lockscreen and Samsung has called it a ‘fresh new look and feel’.

One UI 5.0 has adopted ‘Modes’ that be customized to adjust settings for different arenas of one’s life.

Samsung has also introduced ‘stack widgets’ that allow users to place multiple widgets in one home screen location and scroll through them. The ‘smart suggestions’ widget will look at your usage pattern and suggest particular apps.

One UI 5.0 also improves an OCR, text extraction from the system, and the pictures you have taken.

Samsung has also worked on Google’s focus on privacy and security in Android 13. Samsung will not notify you when a picture you are sharing has personal information within.

The Bixby voice assistant will now be able to answer calls and read the message you have entered to the caller thanks to the new Bixby Text Call functionality.

The Galaxy Watch 4’s BioActive sensor can be used by developers due to the addition of Samsung Privileged Health SDK.

There is also an expanded color palette, improved permissions notification, better animations, and call background effects for individual contacts.
