Samsung unveils high-performance 990 EVO SSD

Samsung has a dedicated lineup of high-end internal SSDs and every iteration brings better power efficiency and more performance. The latest Samsung SSD 990 EVO offers significant improvement over 970 EVO Plus including up to 5,000MB/s read and 4,200 MB/s write speeds. It is also compatible with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 interfaces making it future-proof. Here’s the coverage.

Samsung SSD 990 EVO Pricing and Availability

Samsung SSD 990 EVO is available in a single black color. It offers two storage variants i.e. the 1TB variant is listed at INR 9,999/- while the 2TB variant will fetch you a less than double price tag of up to INR 16,699/-. It will be available across online and retail stores with 5 years of limited warranty.

Samsung SSD 990 EVO Unlocks Enhanced Performance

Samsung SSD 990 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD, a successor to 970 EVO Plus and offers a significant increase in performance. It is up to 43% faster than 970 EVO Plus. It has a sequential read speed of up to 5,000 MB/s and a write speed of up to 4,200 MB/s. Its random read and write speeds are up to 700K IOPS and 800K IOPS, respectively.

Samsung has improved power efficiency on the new 990 EVO by up to 70% compared to its predecessor. This ensures extended usage on PCs without any hassle. The heat spreader onboard 990 EVO regulates the NAND chip’s thermal condition and ensures consistent operations at the highest levels without any compromises over the drive’s integrity. Moreover, it helps the drive perform optimally even at high performance.

The South Korean giant has made the 990 EVO future-proof as it is compatible with both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 X2 interfaces. It ensures the SSD is ready to use with current and future-gen applications. You can choose between 1TB and 2TB of capacity for which, the prices are mentioned above.
