If you are waiting for next-gen display technologies, the upcoming CES 2023 will be the right avenue. Turns out Samsung Display is teasing its latest technology dubbed Flex Hybrid OLED that offers functionalities of both fold and slide on future laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

Samsung Display will showcase Samsung Flex Slidable Solo and Flex Slidable Duet at CES 2023. The technology enables the display panel to unfold from one slide and slide forming a larger screen of real estate. As said, a 10.5” display with a 4:3 ratio and another 12.4” display with a 16:10 ratio will be able to fit as if you are using a regular smartphone form factor.

Moving further, the Flex Slidable Solo and Slidable Duet are the ones where the users can pull additional displays (expand) from one or both sides to get a 17.3” display out of a 14” OLED panel. Samsung has assured that the extended display is touch sensitive as the based display and will bring in a lot of avenues reinventing how we use our smartphones today.

For the unversed, Samsung launched the first foldable device dubbed the original Galaxy Fold. The phone got entangled in bad reviews from tech reviewers thanks to the faulty hinges and creases on the display. Cut to now, we have seen the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 5, and both are quite admirable.

The South Korean giant is also set to launch its 2023 QD-OLED TV series at CES 2023 as well. The series is capable of producing up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. It uses a HyperEfficient EL OLED material along with IntelliSense AI (both from Samsung) to show more accurate colors and conserve energy as it goes ahead.

It will be available in different screen sizes so we will get 49”, 55”, 65”, and 77” model sizes. It is expected to run on Tizen OS under the hood and will have Alexa, Bixby, SmartThings, and HDR10+, among other features.

CES 2023 is happening on January 5 through January 8 where Samsung will showcase a series of new technologies and devices including these foldable and slidable displays.
