Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 launched with a faster chipset & huge battery

Tech giant Samsung has announced the launch of its new Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 today, which is said to be the most powerful tablet by the company to date. Samsung claims it is a perfect combination of impressive display, slim and lightweight design, faster chipset, and more. It is said to provide good learning as well as entertainment experience to the users at an affordable price.

Although the pricing for Galaxy Tab A8 is yet to be announced by the company, Samsung has already confirmed that it will be available in Europe in late December. Other regions including the US will have access to it in January 2022. It will be available in 3 color variants- Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold.

The newest tab by Samsung sports a 10.5-inch TFT screen (1920×1200 pixels) with a slim bezel display and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has an 80% screen-to-body ratio along with featuring quad Dolby Atmos speakers. The company has optimized tablets for multitasking with its One UI interface allowing usage of split-screen mode with the Drag and Split feature.

In the camera department, Galaxy A8 comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The tablet comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants and the storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 1 TB). The device is backed by Samsung’s Knox security platform with multi-layer protection. Face recognition allows only A8 users to access their devices.

Galaxy Tab A8 is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset with a 2.0GHz clock speed paired with up to 4GB RAM. It comes with a large 7040mAh battery with 15W USB Type-C charging.

Connectivity options include LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 support, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet runs on Android 11 with Samsung’s One UI 3 skin on top. It measures 246.8×161.9×6.9mm and weighs 508 grams.

Samsung has also announced that those who buy Galaxy Tab A8 will be eligible to access Samsung TV Plus on their tab, which includes access to over 200 free channels including live and on-demand content. New owners will also get 2 months of YouTube Premium for free.
