The Samsung Exynos on its official twitter handle posted a teaser image suggesting that the Exynos 9 chipset is coming soon. If we take that into account, it is likely to make its debut with the Galaxy S8. As of now, it is being widely reported that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first to come rocking on the Snapdragon 835 chipset. However, if take Samsung’s past practices into account, it is likely to introduce an Exynos variant of the both phones as well.

Over the years, Samsung has used two different set of chipsets in its S series of phones, starting with Galaxy S6. The Qualcomm models are mainly reserved for the US market while it sells all the Exynos models in the Asian market including India. It is worth mentioning that the Exynos chipsets are Samsung’s in-house processors.

The Exynos 9 could very well be the Exynos 9810 as a Samsung’s R&D Team Bangalore intern has posted on its LinkedIn profile.  As per the rumors, the new chipset could come with octa-cores, possibly Mongoose M2 CPU cores.  The M2 cores are likely to support up to 4K Ultra HD (4096×2160) display resolution.

If rumors are to be believed, the Exynos 9810V could clock up to 2.3GHz and could be coupled with an eighteen-core Mali-G71 GPU. On the other hand, the Exynos 9810M could be ticking at 2.5GHz M2 CPU supported by a 20-core Mali-G71 GPU. They are likely to support LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.1 storage and LTE Cat.16 modem.Samsung is likely to use 10nm FinFET process (10LPE) for Exynos 9 chipsets.
