Last week, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was spotted on BIS in India confirming its imminent launch. Turns out today, Samsung Galaxy S24+ (or S24 Plus) has been spotted on BIS marking its imminent launch in India as part of the flagship Galaxy S24 series early next year.
Samsung Galaxy S24+ Spotted on BIS
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website earlier last year bearing model number SM-S928B/DS. The Galaxy S24 series comprises three models – S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Today, Galaxy S24+ has been spotted on BIS too confirming the imminent launch.
The phone bearing model number SM-S926B/DS can be seen in the screenshot below. As usual, the Galaxy S24+ will be a mid-tier flagship phone. Speculations suggest it will bring Exynos 2400 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC options onboard available for different markets while the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be sold in a single Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant.
For the unversed, every smartphone must obtain BIS certification that certifies that the products meet quality and safety standards put forth by the Government of India. Different countries may have different certification authorities such as NBTC, and 3C, among others.
Samsung Galaxy S24+ Specifications
Samsung Galaxy S24+ will have better specs than the S23+ in many cases. For instance, there’s either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC or Exynos 2400 SoC which is market-dependent. Apart from that, the phone could get up to 4,900mAh which leverages its giant size supplied with a 45W fast charging tech that should put competitors such as Apple to shame.
Galaxy S24+ will use an LTPO panel based on Samsung Display’s M13 set. There are 8/12GB RAM and 128/256GB storage options available. Color options as reported by tipster Ice Universe include orange, blue, green, yellow, violet, gray, and black.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Launch Date
There’s a lot of debate around the launch date since the South Korean giant hasn’t confirmed any dates. January 17th (2024) is a highly likely date for the same which is when the series is expected to open for pre-orders followed by shipping between January 26 to January 30. Finally, the series will be available for all reported on January 30. Note that none of these dates are official which means there’s always a chance that they actual dates may vary.
