Samsung Galaxy S24 Screenshot Confirms Satellite Connectivity
Turns out a screenshot from what appears to be a Galaxy smartphone shows “Emergency texts via satellite” as one of the features. For the unversed, none of the Samsung phones are equipped with satellite connectivity which leaves the upcoming Galaxy S24 series as the potential candidate.
The screenshot puts Galaxy S24’s satellite connectivity an inch closer to reality as it shows the ability to send texts when in a remote area with no network range. There were talks that Samsung’s implementation of satellite connectivity would include calling as well although that might not be the case keeping the tipped screenshot in mind.
Other features that seem related to satellite connectivity onboard the Galaxy S24 series are pressing the ‘side button’ five buttons to send an SOS to emergency services. There are also emergency contacts who will be informed about the user’s whereabouts. Additionally, there’s a ‘Medical Info’ section that should inform emergency services about medical conditions and allergies to look out for before administering medications and procedures.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera Details Leaked
The top-of-the-line Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra camera leaks shed light on what we can expect with the Ultra. According to a report by The Elec, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to bring in a 200MP primary wide-angle camera flanked with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP 10x zoom plus a 50MP 5x camera.
The report further adds Samsung will be using a 200MP sensor while the 12MP ultrawide sensor will be sourced from Sunny Optical and Namuga. It further adds a 12MP front camera onboard S24 Ultra will be supplied by MCNEX and Namuga.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will feature a 50MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP 3x zoom sensor akin to the current Galaxy S23 series.
The entire Samsung Galaxy S24 series complies with 3GPP standards to accommodate satellite connectivity, however, it remains to be seen if the feature is available across all markets or a few selected ones.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Pricing
When it comes to the pricing, there’s no confirmed tell on the pricing just yet, however, the South Korean giant is reportedly eyeing for the same prices as that of last year’s. This is an attempt to boost sales in the recovering market as well as be competitive with rivals such as the OnePlus 12, Apple iPhone 15 series, etc.
Last year, Samsung shipped 33 million units of the Galaxy S23 series. With the Galaxy S24 series rolling out, the aim is to achieve 10% more sales which should take the total to more than 36 million units.
