It is that time of the year again! Yes, the time when Samsung launched its next Flagship S Series via the first Unpacked Event of 2023. Samsung Galaxy S23 Series includes 3 models- Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. While the vanilla and plus models are mostly similar in specs, it is the Ultra variant that aims to take the smartphone experience a step ahead. Let us have a look at why the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is different than the two other members of its family.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Price & Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in 4 storage models- 8GB RAM+256GB storage, 12GB RAM+256GB storage, 12GB RAM+512GB storage and 12GB RAM+1TB storage. The price starts at 1199 USD. The device can be pre-ordered from today in USA and will be available from February 17.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in 4 main colors- Phantom Black, Botanic Green, Cream, and Lavender. More color options can be found on Samsung’s official website.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series: Made for a sustainable future

Samsung has made the Galaxy S23 Series, by keeping the planet in mind. The brand has developed and incorporated new recycled plastics from discarded PET bottles in the back glass and front case of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Ultra model is the first Galaxy flagship to use recycled aluminum in the side key, volume keys, and SIM tray. Not only this, but the Galaxy S23 Series is also the first to incorporate Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which contains 22% pre-consumer recycled content in the front and back glass. From 6 internal components being made of recycled materials in the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has 12 internal and external components having a presence of recycled materials.

The entire Galaxy S23 Series sees scaling up the use of recycled ocean-bound plastics to prevent more than 15 tons of discarded fishing nets from entering the oceans by 2023.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Specs

The first look at the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra confirms what we revealed first in October 2022. The design is in tandem with the renders shared exclusively by Smartprix. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra sports a larger 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 3088×1440 pixel resolution, super smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 1750 nits brightness, and vision booster. The display provides enhanced comfort for the eyes as well. Although the Ultra model is also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset made specifically for it, the RAM and storage options go up to 12GB and 1TB respectively. Samsung has entered into a partnership with Qualcomm to modify the 8 Gen 2 chipset for better GPU performance. One of the most pathbreaking upgrades has been provided in the camera department.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra features a quad camera setup at the back with a 200MP main Super Quad Pixel lens, 12MP ultrawide lens, and two 10MP telephoto lenses with 3x and 10x zoom. There is a 12MP front camera as well. The camera provides enhanced nightography, improved image stabilization, Super HDR, OIS, VDIS, Director’s View, Auto Framing, Super High-resolution Photos, and more.

Connectivity options include eSIM, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, GPS, 5G, and more. The smartphone will allow real-time ray tracing and the RAW app has been improved as well. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a larger battery than other both its family members, as it packs a 5000mAh battery with Super Fast charging, wireless charging, and wireless power sharing. It runs Android 13-based One UI 5.1 and has an immersive vapor cooling chamber. It is IP68 rated and has an embedded S-Pen.
