Samsung Galaxy A70 Highlights

Upfront, the phone displays a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 87.5% screen to the body ratio. So, it has a bigger and better display than the Galaxy A50. It has an Infinity-U cutout up top like its siblings.

The phone runs on a 2GHz octa-core processor. However, the details of the chipset used haven’t been revealed yet. In the memory zone, it has a higher 6/8GB RAM+ 128GB ROM – a major bump from the A50 specs. But, the similarities continue with a dedicated expandable storage slot which goes up to 512GB.

The rear camera setup has upgraded to a trio- 32MP sensor (f/1.7 aperture) coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 123 degrees), and finally a 5MP third depth sensor (f/2.2 aperture). The front camera is a 32MP (f/2.0 aperture) selfie snapper housed in the Infinity-U cutout.

One another area where it raises the bar from its siblings is with the 4,500mAh battery with support for Super-Fast charging at 25W. Gladly, the software experience would be the same as in the recent A-series phones, i.e. Android 9.0 Pie based One UI. You also get usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, 4G VoLTE capable dual SIM slots (nano), NFC, and USB Type-C port.

On the announcement, DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics said, “Today’s consumers are using their phones in a more visually active and authentic way – sharing their experiences and staying connected longer. These connections can only thrive when the most essential features allow people to enhance interactions through a spontaneous, collaborative, and genuine connection. This requires an evolution. Which is why, to meet the needs of this emerging generation, we created the new Galaxy A70 – designed for the way people are connecting now.”
