Redmi 7A with Snapdragon 439, 12MP rear camera launched in India

Redmi 7A is the latest addition to the Xiaomi’s phone portfolio in India. This phone had its debut last month in China and is a mellowed down variant of Redmi 7 (review). The brand has made few alterations to better fit the Indian user. Its essential ingredients include Snapdragon 439, 12MP rear camera and 4000mAh battery. Interestingly, the Redmi 7A is the first Xiaomi smartphone to come with two years of warranty.

Redmi 7A hops the Qualcomm train with Snapdragon 439 chipset, which is further backed by up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.  If you want to expand the storage, you can with a microSD card up to 256GB. You get Android Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box.

Like most of the Xiaomi offering of 2019, this phone also packs a 4000mAh battery. It supports a 10W charger.

Xiaomi hasn’t made major strides with the design and display. As it resembles the Redmi 6A more than you would think. It has the same 5.45-inch HD (720x1440p) resolution screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. Redmi 7A touts P2i splash-resistant coating. It comes in Matte Black, Matte Gold and Matte blue colors.

A minor change at the back is a vertical camera panel with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor. The selfie camera is a 5MP shooter with Face unlock support.

Rest, the Redmi 7A also features wireless FM radio, nano dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port.

As an introductory offer celebrating their 5th anniversary, Xiaomi is offering the Redmi 7A base variant for Rs. 5,799 and the 32GB edition for Rs. 5,999 within the month of July. The sale starts from July 11 via Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home and soon on all other partner offline outlets across the country.
