TL; DR
  • realme confirms Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the 16 Pro+. The listing claims 1.44 million on AnTuTu with up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB storage.
  • Other specs include a 7,000 mAh battery with 80W charging, a 4D curved display rated at 6,500 Nits peak.
  • For cameras, there’s a 200 MP Samsung HP5 main and 50 MP 3.5X periscope. India launch is scheduled for January 6.

realme has updated the official product page for the realme 16 Pro+ ahead of the launch on January 6 in India. The listing confirms the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. This is the same chipset used in last year’s generation, and not the upgraded silicon many expected based on earlier marketing.

The brand claims a score of 1.44 million on AnTuTu for this configuration. Storage and memory options go up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS storage.

The confirmation settles the confusion caused by realme’s own teaser chart from last week. That chart showed performance bars that implied a lead of roughly 20% over a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 device. The implication was that the 16 Pro+ would ship with something like Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. The final specification does not match that suggestion.

realme 16 Pro Series

Battery capacity is listed at 7,000 mAh with 80W fast charging. The display uses a curved panel marketed as 4D curved at 6,500 Nits peak brightness. Touch sampling and bezel size are part of the promotion but without detailed numbers. realme is pushing the durability angle with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.

The camera hardware uses a 200 MP Samsung HP5 sensor for the main camera. The second camera is a 50 MP 3.5X periscope telephoto. realme is tying this into its marketing focus on zoom and clarity. There is no confirmation yet on the sensor size for the periscope, although earlier leaks suggest it’s the JN5 at 1/2.76 inches.

On paper, the core processor remains unchanged from the previous model. The upgrades this year appear to be centered around battery capacity, display specifications, water and dust resistance, and the camera configuration rather than the SoC performance.
