Google Pixel 6a spotted on Geekbench

According to the Geekbench database, the upcoming Google Pixel 6a was spotted tagging along with the benchmarking platform.

Per the scores, Google Pixel 6a scores around 1050 points on the single-core test while its multi-core score is 2833 points. The listing does show a few specs related to the processor onboard Pixel 6a although it doesn’t clearly specify if it is a Tensor SoC or not. Talking about the specs that are mentioned, it includes two ARM-based Cortex-X1 scores clocked at 2.80GHz while two other ARM Cortex-A76 cores are throttling at 2.25GHz followed by four power-efficient cores at 1.8GHz. Although it is not explicitly mentioned, we do know for sure that this is a Tensor SoC that Google developed in-house. There’s a 6GB RAM onboard as well.

Google Pixel 6a will be recycling the same design as that of its sibling Pixel 6 and 6 Pro albeit with a compact form factor at 152.2×71.8×8.7mm. Along with that, there’s a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 primary cam at the back flanked with a 12MP Sony IMX396 ultrawide snapper and finally an 8MP IMX355 front-facing cam. The device is likely to use a 6.2-inch FHD+OLED panel at the front. It will have Android 12 for sure which is obvious.

About the launch date, it is speculated to arrive sometime around Google I/O 2022 although a different report suggests it will arrive by the end of 2022. Google Pixel Watch will surely tag along.
