Oppo Watch 3 Series confirmed to launch in August: Will feature Snapdragon W5+ chip

The leading chipmaker, Qualcomm has announced new chipsets Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 for upcoming smartwatches. the brand has confirmed that Oppo and Mobvoi will be the 1st two brands to have smartwatches with Snapdragon’s new chipsets.

“The announcement of the latest Snapdragon W5 wearable platform will bring smart wearable technology to a new level,” said Franco Li, Oppo Associate VP of IoT Business. “Oppo and Qualcomm Technologies have closely collaborated for a long time, creating new possibilities of product innovation together. The Oppo Watch 3 series will be launched in August. As the first smartwatch powered by Snapdragon W5 wearable platform, it will delight our users with better performance.”

The name of Oppo’s upcoming wearable has also been confirmed. It will be called Oppo Watch 3 Series and will launch in August this year. It will be a successor to the Oppo Watch 2 wearable that launched in July 2021 in China. The company is gearing up to announce the upgraded version now.

At present, we don’t have any information about the features of the upcoming Oppo Watch 3, but leaks claim that the watch will have a square dial and offer basic features that come with most wearables. It is expected to come with a heart rate monitor, blood oxygen monitor, and step tracking. To know more about it, we will have to wait till Oppo announces more itself.
