TL; DR

  • OPPO to unveil ColorOS 15 on October 17, 2024, at ODC24.
  • Key features (leaked): lockscreen customization, iOS-like Control Center, dynamic effects, fluid animations, Live Photos, and more.

On October 17th, 2024, OPPO will officially launch ColorOS 15 at its Developer Conference (ODC24) in Hangzhou. The update is expected to bring a refreshed system with a focus on being light, smooth, and smart. This rollout will be a significant update for OPPO users, but it will also impact OxygenOS and realme UI, as they are essentially the same thing with different names.

Among the key changes in ColorOS 15 are the new lockscreen customization options, a redesigned Control Center that takes cues from iOS, and updated features like dynamic effects for unlocking the screen and real-time Gaussian blur. Other changes include fluid animations, addition of Live Photos, and a more iOS-like volume panel.

The tagline for the event, “AI, one step closer,” suggests a deeper integration of AI throughout the system. While most of the details under wraps, the update is expected to bring noticeable improvements across the board.

According to the ODC24 page, “ColorOS 15 is completely refreshed, bringing a new system experience that is light, smooth, smart, efficient, and smart and personalized.” This suggests, as mentioned earlier, some big changes coming to the OS.
