OPPO India has officially launched the Reno16, the higher variant of its Reno16 Series. The phone arrives with a new HoloVerse 3D Design, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a triple 50MP rear camera setup, and a large 6,700 mAh battery. Let’s take a closer look at its pricing and features.

Design & Build

The Reno16 introduces India’s first HoloVerse 3D Design. Exclusive to the Starry White variant, it features the 3D Pop Planet Design, which creates a striking naked-eye 3D effect of a celestial planet appearing to float beneath the surface.

This is powered by a precision-engineered dual-layer optical structure and millions of microlenses. The phone also gets OPPO’s Floating 3D Glitter finish and Dynamic Stellar Ring around the camera module for added depth and shimmer.

It is built with a seamless one-piece cold-sculpted Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Frame and offers top-tier durability with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance. The device measures just 8.22mm in thickness and weighs approximately 182g.

Display

The Reno16 features a compact 6.32-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and 1,800 nits HBM brightness. The front is protected by Crystal Guard glass.

Camera

The Reno16 is equipped with a triple camera system. It packs a 50MP main camera (1/1.95-inch f/1.8) with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera (1/2.75-inch f/2.8) with OIS, and an upgraded 50MP ultra-wide camera (1/2.88-inch f/2.0). The front camera is a 50MP shooter (1/2.88-inch f/2.0) with an 18mm wide focal length.

The Reno16 supports all-focal-length 4K 60fps HDR video recording across the ultra-wide, main, and telephoto lenses. Additional video features include 4K Auto Straighten Video (which corrects handheld shake in real time) and Zoom Free Video (which maintains clarity during zoom transitions).

It’s also packed with several imaging features including Natural Tone Imaging (preserves natural skin tones and realistic colours), AI Remix Collage, Pop Cam (9 AI-curated styles inspired by film, retro, and lifestyle aesthetics), Popout 2.0 (extends subjects beyond the frame), Dual-View Video 2.0, and AI tools such as AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Best Face, AI Unblur, AI Eraser, AI Flash Photography 3.0, and AI Studio.

AI Features

The Reno16 introduces the AI Snap Key, which gives instant access to creativity and productivity tools. A single press allows users to save content to AI Mind Space, record voice notes, or launch tools like the camera, translator, or recorder.

Other notable AI features include AI Mind Pilot (fuses Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT in one interface), AI Mind Space (intelligent memory hub that organises information like a “second brain”), AI Bill Manager, AI Menu Translation, AI Voice Translation & AI Live Translation, AI Recording Sticker, and AI Scan & AI Extract.

Performance & Battery

The Reno16 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which is the same chipset we saw on the Reno15. The chipset is paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It packs a 6,700 mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge support.

Software and Update Policy

The device runs on ColorOS 16 (based on Android 16) out of the box and OPPO promises the device with 6 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.
