Oppo R17 & R17 Pro Dock on Indian Soil With Snapdragon 670 and 710 SoC Respectively

On the lines of what we reported earlier, Oppo has launched their R-series phones for the Indian market. The R-series phones include – Oppo R17 and Oppo R17 Pro  Both these phones come with a price tag which is on the expensive side especially considering its innards.

Oppo R17 Pro & R17 Features

Both R- series phones come with quite different specifications in spite of featuring a similar design. Oppo the R17 boasts a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo R17 Pro, on the other hand, has same display but higher pixel resolution of 1080 x 2340 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Interestingly, both these phones come with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

Coming to the performance, Oppo R17 includes the Snapdragon 670 Octa-core processor accompanied by Adreno 615 GPU while the R17 Pro features Snapdragon 710 Octa-core SoC bolstered with Adreno 616 GPU. Both the phones come with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If that not good enough, user can expand it up to 256GB with a microSD card.

Oppo R17 features a dual camera setup consisting of a 16MP PDAF sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor. The R17 Pro one the other hand features a triple camera setup comprising of a 12MP sensor having a f/1.5-2.4 aperture, a 20MP sensor having a f/2.6 aperture, and a TOF 3D stereo camera. The variable aperture of the primary lens assists in low-light photography. Both the phones feature a 25MP selfie camera with f/1.0 aperture.

Both the smartphones run on Android Oreo 8.1 based ColorOS 5.2. R17 features the antiquated micro USB port while R17 Pro includes a type-C USB port. Both the phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Oppo R17 houses a battery of size 3500 mAh and supports VOOC Flash charging. On the other hand, Oppo R17 Pro is powered by a 3700 mAh battery with SuperVOOC Flash charge.

Oppo R17 & R17 Pro Price

The Oppo R17 India price at the time of launch was announced at Rs. 34,990. It’s pro variant i.e the Oppo R17 Pro price in India is set for Rs. 45,990. Both of them seem to be too pricey for the specifications they boast and we have to see how they will fare in the Indian market.
