Oppo is preparing to re-enter the clamshell foldable market in 2025, nearly a year after the release of the Oppo Find N3 Flip. The upcoming foldable smartphone will be named Oppo Find N5 Flip, as the company is omitting the number 4, which is deemed unlucky in China. It seems that the first glimpse of the Oppo Find N5 Flip may have arrived.

Oppo Find N5 Flip: First Look
A new flip device from Oppo has recently been observed on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s patent filing website, accompanied by a series of renders. Although the documents do not refer to it as the Find N5 Flip, the timing and design strongly suggest that it is likely the forthcoming Flip phone from Oppo.
Based on the renders, if this is indeed the Find N5 Flip, it appears that Oppo is enhancing its design instead of implementing significant alterations. The cover screen remains rectangular, but the camera system has been redesigned into a pill-shaped module positioned on the right.

The updated design provides additional space for the cover screen, as illustrated in the renders. It appears to be wider than its predecessor. The clamshell features three cameras on the pill module and shows no noticeable gap between the hinges when closed. The internal display remains mostly the same, and there is also an alert slider.
Nonetheless, this should be viewed with skepticism since it is merely a patent application, and not all patent filings materialize. This could represent a project that Oppo is developing or could be a concept in its own right.

Oppo has not yet discussed the forthcoming Flip Phone; however, it did release the book-style Oppo Find N5 in February 2025 across global markets. Similar to last year’s Find N3 Flip, which was launched independently from its counterpart, we anticipate a similar rollout approach for the Find N5 Flip.
