Oppo has made a major change to its Indian division by appointing Elvis Zhou as its new President. In the new profile, Zhou will helm OPPO’s business strategy in the country. And this won’t be his first stint in India as he has already served as the General Manager at Oppo Mumbai branch.

Mr. Zhou has had an illustrious career with an experience of over 11 years with OPPO in varied roles. He began his journey at Oppo as the Regional Manager, Sales, OPPO East Guangdong.

Further, in 2013, when OPPO fleshed out its global reach in India, he joined as GM, OPPO Mumbai office and ushered in a commendable performance. During his time there, the Mumbai region garnered huge sales topping charts across the country. Thus he was celebrated with multiple awards.

Needless to say, under the new role, we look forward to him propelling OPPO’s momentum in the domestic market.

“His vision and leadership skills will steer OPPO’s business in India and help achieve the company’s vision to be a sustainable organization contributing to a better world,” the company envisaged in a statement.

“Elvis has been an integral part of the OPPO India. His experience in the smartphone industry makes him the ideal person to lead our ambitious India growth strategy as we expand our operations. We extend a warm welcome and congratulate him on his new role,” shared Charles Wong, Vice President of Global Sales, OPPO.

“I am extremely excited to take on this new role at Oppo India. Indian mobile market is growing exponentially and I look forward to further strengthen the brand presence in the country by providing great user experience with our products,” Zhou said on his appointment.

As per the leading Market Research concern IDC, Oppo ranks 4th in terms of smartphone sales volume. The brand is all set to launch the much-anticipated Oppo Reno3 in India on 02 March 2020. So, this would probably be the first phone to release under his purview.
