OnePlus’ first foldable, OnePlus Open, will soon debut in India. For the last few weeks, rumors and reports about the phone have been doing rounds online. We’ve already seen images of the phone with an insane black box around the camera module. Now, OnePlus India has teased the smartphone officially, indicating that the launch is imminent.
OnePlus Open Is “Opening Soon”
On October 9, 2023, OnePlus India teased the smartphone through its official X account with the caption, “A true OnePlus experience awaits.” The tweet contains a hint of the Alert slider, the power button, and the volume rockets on the smartphone. Further, it also showcases the shiny metallic frame of the phone. We can also see two antenna bands on the left and right spine of the phone, but that is it.
Captioning the image, OnePlus India writes “Opening Soon,” indicating that the smartphone is coming soon to the Indian market. Usually, brands upload such teasers when they are ready to unveil a smartphone. Given the extent of leaks and rumors, it looks like enthusiasts might see the OnePlus Open sooner than expected. Earlier, reports claimed that the smartphone would come out late in October.
OnePlus Open Expected Specifications
Most recently, tipster Digital Chat Station leaked the specifications of the smartphone. The OnePlus Open could come with a 7.82-inch 120Hz OLED primary screen and a 6.31-inch 120Hz cover screen. Under the hood, the phone may feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The front camera on the outer screen is a 32MP sensor, while the one on the internal display is a 20MP shooter.
The main camera array of the phone should contain two 48MP sensors and a 64MP sensor. Combined, these should provide a regular, ultrawide, and zoomed perspective for clicking pictures. Last but not least, the smartphone is said to feature a 4,805 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging. More details about the foldable, including the release date, should surface soon.
