OnePlus was expected to launch three phones on April 15 but instead, only Oneplus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro (reviews) were announced. The OnePlus 8 Lite that later appeared in leaks at OnePlus Z was missing from the scene.
The ‘Z’ will allegedly be a more affordable option to 8-series and will be tailor-made for India. A fresh leak posted by Max J hints at a possible launch of OnePlus Z in July.
The render shared by Max J is very much in line with the previous leaks. The OnePlus Z is likely to feature an AMOLED screen with a punch hole for a selfie camera.

It is speculated that the OnePlus Z launch was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Although, OnePlus hasn’t dropped any hints related to its existence, but it has been a part of a series of leaks in the past. The OnePlus Z is allegedly the first OnePlus smartphone without a Qualcomm chipset at the core. This one is likely to employ MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset with 5G connectivity, of course.

If you recall, back in 2015 OnePlus launched its first mid-tier smartphone, OnePlus X. Post that OnePlus has only focused on flagship options. If the OnePlus Z turns out to be true, it will be the OnePlus first smartphone in the mid-range segment in years. With OnePlus 8-Series prices reaching well beyond Rs 40,000 mark, it seems a logical move to come up with a trimmed-down version to attract masses, especially in markets like India.
