OnePlus 12 will get a triple rear camera onboard. The first line of rumors suggested a 50MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP telephoto snapper. However, we were the first to uncover the fact that OnePlus 12 has a periscope lens.

Banking on the same, recent information by tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the Chinese smartphone maker is done with the telephoto sensor and will replace it with the purported periscope lens. It resembles a lot like Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ which is not a surprise. The cam sports 3x optical zoom capabilities. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC computational photography will work in tandem with the 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor to capture amazing shots. It will have OIS as well which should keep the shots super smooth.

Surprisingly, the primary cam on the OnePlus 12 uses the new Sony IMX966 snapper (similar to Sony IMX989) with a 1”-type imager that uses a double-layer build to compensate for the smaller size. It eventually improves sensitivity for better photography. There’s a third 50MP ultrawide snapper too that will complete its triple rear camera setup.

OnePlus 12 Specifications

OnePlus 12, the next-gen flagship device, is set to arrive with a 6.7” QHD OLED 2K display. It uses an LTPO panel that controls flawless 120Hz intelligently. As said, it features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with an Adreno 750 GPU that promises better performance overall. A UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5T RAM give the OnePlus 12 an edge over the predecessor OnePlus 11 with a performance bump.

OnePlus 12 is expected to arrive with a 5,400mAh battery paired with 150W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds. We already got the camera setup covered in the previous section that sums up what you can expect with the incoming OnePlus 12.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Broke AnTuTu Records

OnePlus 12 will be powered by the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. The chipset will be announced on October 24. The chipset has already appeared on the AnTuTu GPU test scoring 8,40,000 making it 40% faster than the predecessor. On the AnTuTu CPU test, it is an estimated 15% better in performance scoring a whopping 4,40,000 points on the scale.

Cumulatively, the overall AnTuTu score for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is more than 2 million points. the prototype device that was tested with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC had 16GB LPDDR5T RAM which is an estimated 16% faster than current LPDDR5X RAMs. Do note that these tests are done in a controlled environment and thus, real-life scores may be lower.
