Nothing partners with Qualcomm for its upcoming products: Raises 50-million-dollar funding

Nothing’s products will now use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platforms as the two companies have entered into a strategic partnership. Upcoming Nothing products will use Snapdragon’s chipsets and audio platforms. Nothing has also announced that it has received $50 Million in Series A extension investments.

What does Nothing say?

Users deserve better products that are simpler to use, accessible, yet look amazing. Seamless connectivity is paramount to achieving our vision of a future without barriers between people and technology. We look forward to working alongside Qualcomm Technologies and our strategic investors to achieve Nothing’s next phase of growth,” said Carl Pei, CEO, and Co-founder of Nothing.

Nothing has announced a $50 million funding round, which is an extension of the $15 million Series A it had raised in February this year. Thus, making the funding raised by the London-based electronics firm $74 million so far.

Nothing’s first product was a TW pair of headphones which was launched in August 2021. The company claims that they have shipped over 100,000 units of its first product to date and this new funding of 50 million dollars would be used for research and development in preparation for Nothing’s new product categories. Nothing has also claimed that it will count on an ecosystem play, which means that it will make consumer electronic products that work with each other, much like Apple. Although the company did not disclose the full list of investors participating in this round, the names of Axel Christofer and Sebastian Indrosso of the band Swedish House Mafia have been popped up. Earlier investors of Nothing include Apple iPod creator Tony Fadell, YouTuber Casey Neistat, and others.

What does Qualcomm say?

Qualcomm’s SVP & President, Enrico Salvatori said, “By combining the power and efficiency of Snapdragon mobile platforms with 5G connectivity across many different categories of devices, we are fostering the development of innovative products that are intended to benefit consumers and deliver richer, more immersive experiences.”
