Nokia 7.2, 6.2 and more legacy phones go official before IFA 2019

HMD Global unveiled a slew of Nokia phones at an event, just a day before the IFA 2019. Nokia 7.2, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 110 (2019), Nokia 800 Tough, and Nokia 2720 Flip makes the cut. Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 flaunting triple cameras and PureDisplay.

The chief among the feature phones is the Nokia 2720 Flip, which gambles on the nostalgia element. This one, in particular, is slightly smarter in dint of KaiOS. Nokia 800 Tough positions itself as a rugged phone, resistant to water, dust, accidental drops, and extreme temperatures. The list of products launched also includes Nokia 110 (2019) and Nokia Power Earbuds.

Nokia 7.2 highlights

Nokia 7.2 wields Zeiss Optics powered triple camera setup, including a 48MP main sensor, followed by 8MP (13mm, ultrawide) and a 5MP depth sensor. Upfront you have a 20MP camera, which resides in a tiny teardrop notched 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD Display. It is engined by Snapdragon 660, backed by RAM upto 6GB and 128GB storage, with Android One (Pie) software up top. It draws from a 3500mAh battery with a 10W charger.

Nokia 6.2 highlights

Nokia 6.2 also sports a triple camera setup, including a 16MP main sensor, followed by 8MP (13mm, ultrawide) and a 5MP depth sensor. Upfront you have an 8MP camera. The display config remains intact as Nokia 7.2. Under the hood, it runs on Snapdragon 636, coupled with RAM upto 4GB and 128GB storage, with Android One (Pie) software up top. The battery size and charger are the same as Nokia 7.2.

Nokia 2720 Flip and other feature phones

Simply put, its a clamshell phone with support for 4G connectivity, and apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Assistant, etc, thanks to the underlying KaiOS, aided by 4GB of RAM and 512MB storage. Plus, there is microSD card expansion up to 32 GB via a dedicated slot.

Nokia 800 Tough’s main differentiator is in its name itself – it’s rugged! Rest, it also packs the 4G connectivity and apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Google Assistant. Finally, the Nokia 110 is a refresh of the 2012 model and is a basic-functionality phone. It comes with goodies like Snake game, FM Radio, MP3 Player, and a built-in camera.

Pricing and Availability

  • The Nokia 7.2 comes in Cyan Green, Charcoal and Ice, in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB memory variants, priced at 299/349 Euros respectively, available from the end of September.
  • The Nokia 6.2 comes in Ceramic Black and Ice, in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB memory variants, priced at 199/249 Euros respectively, available from October.
  • The Nokia 800 Tough comes in Black Steel and Desert Sand and will be available early October, priced at 109 Euros.
  • The Nokia 2720 Flip comes in Ocean Blue, Black, and Pink, and will be available in September, priced at 89 Euros.
  • The Nokia 110 will be available in Ocean Blue, Black and Pink starting mid-September and will retail at $20 globally.
  • The Nokia Power Earbuds will come in Charcoal Black and Light Grey and will be available from October, retailing at 79 Euros.
