Next-gen Chromecast with Google TV is launching in India soon

Turns out Chromecast is now launching in India along with Google TV in 11 countries as per a report. Launched back in 2020, the US got its hands on Chromecast with Google TV with Dolby Vision and 4K HDR video playback support and now, it is arriving across other countries. This generation of Chromecast has been improved a lot so let’s read more about it.

Chromecast with Google TV launching in India

According to the report from FlatpanelsHD, a new generation of Chromecast with Google TV is launching in a total of 12 countries apart from the ones it was originally available at. This includes India, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Austria, South Korea, New Zealand, and Taiwan to name it.

The report further adds that the European launch is scheduled for June 21 while its release in the Asian markets including India is shrouded in mystery at the moment so that needs to be known.
FlatpanelsHD further adds that the new Chromecast with Google TV is already available with third-party retailers so you can get your hands on it asap. Apart from that, Google will send out updates to the existing units that should include local language support for the UI as well as localized support for the content.

Talking about the pricing, it was launched in the US at $49.99 back in September 2020 so that should be the apt price for its Indian launch as well. Note that we aren’t putting a number to the unit at this time because prices do change when tech companies are launching products in different countries. The pricing for the current-gen Chromecast in India i.e. Chromecast3 is Rs 3,499 so expect to pay a bit more, to be honest.

With that being said, the Google TV integration with the new Chromecast offers it an outstanding list of features including Google Assistant, content delivery of up to 4K HDR resolution, and up to 60 frames per second. There’s Dolby Vision support as well as Dolby Audio over HDMI and more.
