Netflix is back with its famous Fan Event, Netflix Tudum 2023 where the OTT giant is expected to make truckloads of announcements related to upcoming shows and movies that will be streaming in the upcoming months. The First Tudum event was held in January 2020 and this was its 5th edition which has taken place on the 18th of June 2023.
Netflix Tudum: What is it?
Netflix Tudum is a global pop culture fan event that is held every year. During the event, the OTT giant reveals more about its new original shows and movies that are set to debut or set to return in the coming months or years.
Netflix Tudum 2023: Date, Time, Venue & Streaming Details
The Netflix Tudum 2023 officially began on June 17 but in India, it streamed live from June 18 at 2 PM IST via Netflix’s Official YouTube channel. The event will happen in Sau Paolo Brazil this time.
The livestreaming of this Fan Event was free to watch anywhere in the world. All you needed was an internet connection. Watch the trailer for Netflix Tudum 2023 here.

Netflix Tudum 2023: Movies
The following movies were talked about during the event.
- Extraction 3 Announced
The event kicked off with Chris Hemsworth taking the stage along with director Sam Hargrave. The duo confirmed that the third part of the movie in the franchise is on the way. It is one of the fastest renewals as the news was announced 2 days after Extraction 2 streamed on Netflix.
- Heart of Stone
Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, and Alia Bhatt closed out the show by debuting a new trailer for their upcoming action movie Heart of Stone, which will hit Netflix on August 11.
- Lift
The first look of the movie Lift was shown off starring Kevin Hart & Gugu Mbatha-Raw directed by F. Gary Gray. The action comedy an international heist crew that’s recruited to prevent a terrorist attack and must pull off the heist on a plane mid-flight. The movie releases on 12th January 2024.
- Rebel Moon Featurette
Zack Snyder released a BTS look at his upcoming movie Rebel Moon. Rebel Moon is split into 2 parts with the first being released on 22 December, 2023. The second will follow soon after, although the release date of part 2 has not been announced yet.
- All The Light We Cannot See Featurette
A new featurette was revealed based on 2 teens who are thrust against the backdrop of WWII and share a secret connection that will become the beacon of hope in the darkest of times. It is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Anthony Doerr Novel.
Netflix Tudum 2023: Shows
While the movie lineup is limited, the show’s lineup is huge. An extensive list of shows made their presence felt at Tudum this year. The list includes the following titles.
- Squid Game Season 2 Announced
While the full trailer and release date is yet to be announced, in the meanwhile Netflix has revealed the cast for Squid Game Season 2. While Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi-Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo will be returning, new cast members will include Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha- Neul, Park Sung-Hppn, and Yang Dong-Geun.
Squid Game: The Challenge Teaser
Squid Game will no longer be only a drama series, it will also be a reality show based on the hit 2023 South Korean Series. Squid Game: The Challenge will see 456 contestants competing in schoolyard games over 10 episodes for the chance to 4.56 million USD.
- 3 Body Problem
The upcoming sci-fi series from the creators of Game of Thrones was also teased. It will premiere in January 2024.
- Avatar: The Last Airbender
A little glimpse of Avatar: The Last Airbender was showcased. Netflix revealed the first character images of its live-action series as well as title reveal footage-water, earth, fire, air, and all. It will release in 2024.
- Bridgerton Season 3
Bridgerton was one of the most anticipated shows during the TUDUM 2023. Although there was no new footage, the first images of Season 3 were shown off that focus on what’s expected to be the central romance in this season: Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) aka #Polin. Since Penelope is also Lady Whistledown and Eloise knows about it, the romance is likely to get messy.
- Cobra Kai
Although Cobra Kai Season 6 is on a hiatus, Netflix did share a sweet video of the cast reuniting. The 6th season, whenever it comes will be the final season of the series.
- Elite
Elite Season 7 teaser was shown off that included Brazilian pop star Anitta, a new addition to the cast. Elite Season 7 will debut on October 20 and the Spanish teen drama will see original star Omar Ayuso returning for the 7th season.
- Emily in Paris
Lead star Lily Collins revealed via a short video that season 4 will be headed to Rome. “Is Alfie still heartbroken?” “Will Gabriel get his Michelin star?” “Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision?” Will Sylvie’s rekindled love last?” and the main question, “Will Emily & Gabriel finally get together?”
- Fubar
None other than Netflix’s new Chief Action Office Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that his Fubar is returning for a second season.
- Berlin
From the world of Money Heist, a new show will emerge. Berlin has gotten its first trailer. Pedro Alonso reprises his titular character and it will find him long before he finds out about his terminal diagnosis following him as he attempts one of his most extraordinary heists.
- Heartstopper
Heartstopper Season 2 revealed its opening scene as well the titles for all 8 episodes. It premieres on August 3. The episode titles are-
Out, Family, Promise, Challenge, Heat, Truth/Dare, Sorry & Perfect.
- Love is Blind
Netflix showed the 1st look at some of the hopeful singles who are going to be a part of Season 5 of Love is Blind. The show will debut in September and will ask the same question, will we ever actually learn if is love truly blind?
- Lupin
Lupin Part 3 quick clip was released. It is a heist series returning on October 3. Omar Sy is back as Assnae Diop, a character inspired by the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise. Arsene Lupin.
- Never Have I Ever
Maiteryi Rama Krishnan, Darren Barnet & Jaren Lewison appeared on the stage to look back at their journeys throughout the show. The cast bowed out by announcing that Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix.
- One Piece
We got a look at Netflix’s live-action One Piece series, giving us the first footage of the Straw Hats in action. The release date is 31st August.
- Outer Banks
Outer Banks showed off a sneak peek of its upcoming season 4, introduced by Chase Stokes.
- Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
Queen Charlotte stars Corey Mylchreest and India Dia Amarteifio were present who announced ‘The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience”.
- Stranger Things Season 5
Stranger Things Season 5 hasn’t started filming yet but it was still one of the biggest reveals of the event, as it was announced that Terminator icon Linda Hamilton will be joining the cast of the 5th and final season.
- The Archies
Zoya Akhtar”s The Archies first look was showcased during the event. It is a musical drama set in 1960s India and stars Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina as characters from Archies comics.
The Witcher Season 3
A new clip was shown off from Witcher Season 3 starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey. A big sword fight and magic fight can be seen in the clip.
Wednesday
The cast of Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, and Hunter Doohan got together to discuss some choice fan stories. Wednesday Season 2 is on its way.
- You
‘You’ star Penn Badgley appeared via a short video to tease the 5th and final season. “You’re considering what- or most importantly, who Joe- might come up against as he finally returns to New York,” he said in the video. “Though I can’t say who just yet, we all know there are many loose ends from Joe’s past.”
Korean Dramas- A short sizzle reel of K-Movies and Series still to come in 2023 & beyond was shown off. It includes Celebrity, D.P., Mask Girl, A time called you, Song of the Bandits, Ballerina, Doona, Daily Dose of Sunshine, Sweet Home, Believer 2, and Gyeong Seong Creature.
Queen’s Gambit will also soon be available as a video game.
