Microsoft Surface Phone On The Cards? Yes, Report Says So!

A ‘Surface Phone’ by Microsoft may soon be on the cards, if a report doing the rounds on the Internet is to be believed, according to which the Redmond-based company has already made its patent for the device public.

Satya Nadella, CEO of the company has also already confirmed that it will “make more phones, but they will not look like phones that are there today.” (sic)

Earlier this year, Nadella had confirmed that Microsoft would be bringing out an ‘ultimate smartphone’ this year only and added that “We (Microsoft) will continue to be in the phone market not as defined by today’s market leaders, but by what it is that we can uniquely do in what is the most ultimate mobile device.” (sic)

Nadella’s company has now published patents on smartphones, even though their contribution in revenues for the last quarter has been a big, fat zero.

Speaking of the patent in question, it is for a bendable device with an antenna, SIM card holders, battery, and screen connectors split over hinges, creating a dual-winged device.

It would be interesting to see if this ‘Surface Phone’ is able to revive the company’s smartphone credentials, which are at an all time low at the moment.
