It is now official, Mi 11 Lite will be the next Xiaomi phone to debut in India. The upcoming smartphone will be part of the Mi 11 series that includes Mi 11X, Mi 11X Pro (review), and Mi 11 Ultra. A day after Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director at Xiaomi India revealed the plans for Mi 11 Lite India launch, the company has put out an official ‘block the date’ invite for June 22 at 12:00 pm (IST).

The Mi 11 Lite Invite has ‘Lite & Loaded’ written in big and bold fonts hinting key highlights of the phone. Xiaomi claims that it will be the “thinnest, lightest and most loaded smartphone of 2021.”

Xiaomi is yet to confirm whether it will be a 4G or 5G version it the phone. The Mi 11 Lite already exists outside India with both 4G and 5G capabilities.

The Mi 11 Lite 5G is driven by the Snapdragon 780G SoC, while the Mi 11 Lite 4G is backed by Snapdragon 732G chipset. Apart from that most of the innards are same. They both flaunt a 90Hz AMOLED panel with 240Hz sampling rate up front. Their displays are HDR10 certified panel and claims to achieve brightness of 800nits.

and is protected under Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Similarly, both phones house a 64MP led triple-rear camera setup. Both phones come with a 4250 mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.

Xiaomi Mi11 Lite Launch: What do we expect?

We expect Xiaomi to announce the Mi 11 Lite 4G on June 22. Xiaomi already has a decent 5G phone portfolio in India but currently, we don’t know when 5G services will be rollout in the country. Thus we expect Xiaomi to offer a pocket-friendly 4G version of the phone.

In India, we expect Xiaomi to offer Mi 11 Lite 4G with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. It is expected to come out of the box running on Android 11 based MIUI 12 OS.
