Chinese mobile maker Meizu had promised two new phones on the lines of its April launched Meizu 15 and 15 Plus. The company kept its promise today by announcing Meizu 16 and 16 Plus. Major attractions of these two launches by Meizu will comprise of a 6-inch and 6.5-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio panel by Samsung, having 91.18% screen-to-body ratio, Snapdragon 845 SoC, custom copper cooling tube and a fingerprint sensor with 99.12% high recognition rate on the display panel. Bezels in the two phones have been optimized to 1.43mm on the sides, and 5.74mm on the chin, giving both the devices full-screen finish.
The camera aspects for both the phones have been retained from their respective predecessors. Both the phones have a ceramic texture 3D glass rear.
Meizu 16 Features
Meizu has introduced the in-display fingerprint sensor in both the device this time, having an efficiency of 99.12% recognition rate. A 6-inch ( 1080 × 2160 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED, having 402 ppi makes the display panel for the device.
The phone features favoured Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, with Adreno 630 GPU and the latest Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Flyme skin as the interactive layer.
This base variant by Meizu also features a main 12MP rear camera having 1/2.3″ Sony IMX380 sensor, wide-angle lens, f/1.8 aperture, 1.55μm pixel size, Four-axis OIS, PDAF, and Laser auto-focus. A 20MP auxiliary rear camera having telephoto lens, Sony IMX350 sensor, 6 ring LED flashlight, and f/2.6 aperture is also present alongside the main camera.
As for the secondary camera specifications, a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, having AI-face unlock feature is present on the front panel of the mobile.
A battery unit of 3010mAh with mCharge fast charging support fuels this smartphone.
Connectivity options on board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C.
