Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV launched in India books starts January 26; offers a range of up 456Kms and a top speed of 150kmph

Compact EV SUV Mahindra XUV400 debuted in India for an introductory price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Nexon EV Prime and Tata Nexon EV MAX currently hold the majority of the market share, so Mahindra’s first widely available EV product is the XUV400. With a top speed of 150 kmph and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds, the XUV400 is also the fastest electric vehicle produced in India.

The XUV400 EV claims a range of 456 kilometers. With features like a sunroof, a 7-inch infotainment system, 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, etc., it has 7.2kW fast charging capability. The Hyundai Kona EV and the MG ZS EV, which are in the segment above, are competitors of the car.

Mahindra XUV400 price, availability 

A special introductory price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) has been set for the Mahindra XUV400 in India. The car comes in three different versions: EC, EC with 7.2kW charging, and EL. The price of the entry-level EC with 3.3kW charging is Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the same variant with 7.2kW charging costs Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The highest-priced EL variant has an MSRP of Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices are reserved for the first 5,000 bookings, after which Mahindra may revise the prices.

The color options for the XUV400 include Arctic Blue, Everest White, Napoli Black, Infinity Blue, and Galaxy Grey. Mahindra will begin taking orders for the XUV400 on January 26th, 2023, and deliveries are anticipated to start in March of that same year.

The front-mounted 150hp (310Nm) electric motor on the Mahindra XUV400 is paired with one of two battery pack options, measuring 34.5kWh or 39.4kWh. The larger 39.4kWh battery pack offers 456km of range on a single charge, compared to the smaller 34.5kWh battery pack’s claimed 375km of range. The XUV400 accelerates to a top speed of 150 kmph in 8.3 seconds from 0 kmph. The EV has three driving settings, Fun, Fast, and Fearless, which change the steering input and throttle response.

With the 7.2kW charger, the XUV400 can be fully charged from an empty battery to 100 percent in 6 hours and 30 minutes and from zero to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. A sunroof, 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, connected car technology, disc brakes on all four wheels, alloy wheels, LED DRLs, leatherette seats, and other features are included with the XUV400.
