Lava Shark 5G Launched in India at ₹7,999: Affordable 5G Smartphone Unveiled

    Lava has launched its new budget contender, the Lava Shark 5G, priced at ₹7,999. Announced as the most affordable 5G smartphone in India, the Shark 5G brings some decent specifications to the table, making 5G accessible to a broader audience. The device is available for purchase starting today across Lava retail outlets and the Lava e-store in Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue color options.

    The Lava Shark 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and water drop notch. It is powered by the Unisoc T765 octa-core processor, built on a 6 nm process, and it also supports 5G connectivity. The chipset includes 2X Cortex-A76 cores at 2.3 GHz and 6X Cortex-A55 cores at 2.1 GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. 

    The device comes with 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM (expandable by 4 GB virtual RAM) and 64 GB storage, running a “clean Android 15” experience with no bloatware, guaranteed security updates, and upgrades.

    For photography, the Shark 5G sports a 13 MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support (10W charger included), via a USB Type-C port. The device also features a glossy back design, IP54 rating, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

    Lava emphasizes user convenience with a Free Service@Home program alongside support at retail outlets. “The Shark 5G reflects our commitment to making next-gen technology inclusive and affordable for every Indian,” said Mr. Sumit Singh, Head – Product, Lava International Limited, during the launch event.
