After a successful launch of the CMF Phone 1 and other products, Carl Pei’s company, Nothing is now gearing up for its next launch. The company has already shared teasers of the phone on its X (Twitter) handle with a “+” emoji. All of this was a hint to a “Plus” model in the Nothing family.
We were not sure if this was a “Plus” model of the Nothing Phone 2 (review) or the Phone 2a (review). But now, the Jio 5G compatibility check page confirms that the device in question is the Nothing Phone 2a Plus.
At the time of writing, very little is known about the Nothing Phone 2a Plus. A recent rumor suggests that the Phone 2a Plus could be powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7350 SoC. It is a minor upgrade over the Dimensity 7200 that we have on the Phone 2a. Nonetheless, this is just a rumor and nothing is concrete yet. So take it with a pinch of salt.

Other speculations suggest that the Nothing Phone 2a Plus could very well be the Community Edition of the Phone 2a. But then, why would Nothing launch a community edition of the Phone 2a with a Plus suffix? It doesn’t make much sense.
What we know about the Nothing Phone 2a Plus is that it will indeed run NothingOS 2.6 and will be a slightly upgraded version of the Nothing Phone 2a, probably sitting in the INR 30,000 price range. This positions it below the Nothing Phone 2 and above the Phone 2a.

It appears that Nothing is aiming to expand its portfolio, similar to other brands, with four SKUs offered each year—CMF Phone X, Nothing Phone X, Nothing Phone Xa, and Nothing Phone Xa Plus.
