The biggest cricketing extravaganza in the world is all set to begin its first and very important phase. Yes, you guessed it right Mega Auctions for the Indian Premier League 2025 are just around the corner and it promises to be two days of complete drama and entertainment as all the franchises take each other on head-to-head to form the best squad possible. More than 500 players will go under the hammer spanning two days which includes marquee players, capped and uncapped players, and more. In this article, we will talk about everything there is to know about the upcoming IPL 2025 auction taking place this weekend.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: When & Where to watch

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will take place on the 24th and 25th of November in Saudia Arabia’s Jeddah. It is the 2nd time that an IPL Auction is taking place outside India. The event will kick off at 3 PM IST on 24th November and will be telecasted on Star Sports Network. You can also watch the auction live on the Jio Cinema OTT platform.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Players Registered

A total of 1574 players registered for IPL 2025 but the list has been trimmed down to 574 players, including 366 Indians, 208 foreign, and 3 players from associate nations. 329 are capped players out of registered ones.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Players in Marquee Set

The players included in the Marquee Set are Rishabh Pant, Jos Butler, Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Mitchell Starc, Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Siraj.

IPL Franchises Retentions & RTM Remaining

  • Chennai Super Kings– Ruturaj Gaikwad (18 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (18 crore), Matheesha Pathirana (13 crore), Shivam Dube (12 crore) and MS Dhoni (4 crore). 1 RTM can be used during the auction.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore– Virat Kohli (21 crore), Rajat Patidar (11 crore), Yash Dayal (Rs. 5 crore). 3 RTMs can be used during the auction.
  • Delhi Capitals- Axar Patel (16.5 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (13.25 crore), Tristan Stubbs (10 crore) and Abhishek Porel (4 crore). 2 RTMs can be used during auction.
  • Kolkata Knight Riders- Rinku Singh (13 crore), Varun Chakravarthy (12 crore), Sunil Narine (12 crore), Andre Russell (12 crore), Harshit Rana (4 crore) and Ramandeep Singh (4 crore). No RTMs can be used during the auction.
  • Rajasthan Royals– Sanju Samson (18 crore), Yashasvi Jaiswal (18 crore), Riyan Parag (14 crore), Dhruv Jurel (14 crore), Shemron Hetmyer (11 crore) and Sandeep Sharma (4 crore). No RTMs can be used during the auction.
  • Gujarat Titans- Rashid Khan (18 crore), Shubhman Gill (16.5 crore), Sai Sudarshan (8.5 crore), Rahul Tewatia (4 crore) and Shahrukh Khan (4 crore). 1 RTM can be used during the auction.
  • Lucknow Super Giants- Nicholas Pooran (21 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (11 crore), Mayank Yadav (11 crore), Mohsin Khan (4 crore), and Ayush Badoni (4 crore). 1 RTM can be used.
  • Punjab Kings- Shashank Singh (5.5 crore), Prabhsimran Singh (4 crore). 4 RTMs can be used at the auction.
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad- Heinrich Klaasen (23 crore), Pat Cummins (18 crore), Abhishek Sharma (14 crore), Travis Head (14 crore), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (6 crore). 1 RTM can be used at the auction.
  • Mumbai Indians- Jasprit Bumrah (18 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (16.35 crore), Hardik Pandya (16.35 crore), Rohit Sharma (16.30 crore) and Tilak Varma (8 crore). 1 RTM can be used at the auction.

IPL 2025 Mega Auctions: Purse Remaining

A total of 204 slots will be up for grabs, out of which 70 are for overseas players. Rs. 2 crore is the highest reserve price with 81 players being in the highest bracket. All franchises will be able to use a total of 120 crores to build a squad of 25 members.
