Instagram down for thousands of global users: Here’s how you can still access the social media platform

Are you facing issues while using your Instagram account? Then you are not alone as the Meta-owned social media platform Instagram is down for 1000s of people at a global level, including India. The issue was first witnessed on Wednesday night and since then the Downdetector has seen a major rise in the number of users reporting the outage.

How to access Instagram while it is down?

While the Downdetector chart shows that the app has seen a massive outage since last night, which means the issue has not been fixed yet. Try using the app via a metered connection, home WiFi, and a VPN. While the first two might not work, using a VPN might work as the issue is specific to specific locations and servers.

The outage has led to the Instagram app not loading content, like posts from the feed and even the IG Stories aren’t loading. Messages like “Couldn’t refresh feed’ and ‘Couldn’t load posts’ are being displayed for many users. In some places, Instagram has been giving out notifications saying the device is not connected to the internet, while in actuality it is. Some are complaining about devices logging out of the app and having to log in again.

As is the norm, Instagram down has started trending on Twitter with the same hashtag (#InstagramDown), wherein users are expressing their emotions and frustrations. Here are some of them-
