For the first time in its history, the company shipped over 200 million smartphones to customers through the year. Huawei has shown a growth of 66 times from a humble 3 million units in 2010 to 200 million units in 2018. Currently, around 500 million mobile users around the world are supposed to be wielding a Huawei smartphone. Looking at the statistics, the company has witnessed a rise of around 50 million shipments as compared to last year.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, gave a statement :

“Looking to the future, Huawei’s consumer business will focus on the core concept of ‘consumer-centric’, and will dare to keep innovating, and make every effort to become a pioneer and leader in the next wave of the smartphone revolution,”

Huawei’s recently launched Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro have already registered sales of over five million units. The earlier launched Huawei P20 has sold over 16 million units since its launch in March. Nova series has been the flagbearer for the company in terms of sales with over 65 million shipments in 2018. With more exciting phones like Huawei Nova 4 making it to the market, it shouldn’t be very hard for Huawei to retain its crown in the coming quarters.
