TL; DR
- ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15 bring a new Dynamic Island feature that stacks up to four apps.
- Smoother animations, advanced blur, and a revamped control center are part of the major changes coming to the new OS.
Recent leaks from China’s social media platform Weibo and others have revealed exciting features of the upcoming ColorOS 15 and OxygenOS 15. These updates include smoother animations, a revamped control centre, and several more customization options.
1. Dynamic Island Feature (Fluid Cloud)
Fluid Cloud, the new Dynamic Island-like feature, can stack up to four apps, unlike Apple’s implementation of two apps. This bubble sits on the punch hole of your phone’s screen, showing live activities like music playing, order status, timers, and more.
The screenshots suggest that Fluid Cloud feature will allow you to customize what happens when you tap it. You can choose to either open the app directly or expand the card instead. The Fluid Cloud even has a neat animation when interacting with it.

2. Smooth Animations
ColorOS 15/OxygenOS 15 will significantly improve animations. With features like Wallpaper Scaling and Gaussian Blur, the transition between apps seems smoother than ever. You can even open multiple apps simultaneously without any lag in the animations.
3. Advanced Blur
The Advanced Blur feature enhances the blur in the notification shade and control center.

4. Redesigned Control Center
The ColorOS/OxygenOS Control Center has undergone a major redesign, borrowing elements from iOS and HyperOS. It features:
- Two toggle switches at the top
- A Media Player section
- A Brightness slider (with the auto brightness toggle)
- A Volume slider
- Horizontally scrollable toggles
Additionally, the Control Center has two modes: Classic Mode (similar to ColorOS 14) and Split Mode, the new one that resembles iOS and HyperOS. We also mentioned this in our exclusive OxygenOS 15 story.
5. AOD to Lock Screen Transition
The transition from the Always-On Display (AOD) to the Lock Screen and then to the Home Screen is smoother and neater. Users can apply glass effects, change clock font styles, and adjust clock colors on the lock screen.

ColorOS 15 will be officially unveiled on October 17 at the ODC (OPPO Developer Conference) in China. And since OxygenOS 15 is basically a renamed version of ColorOS 15, you can expect all the features to arrive on your OnePlus smartphone too.
