Digitek Tubular Bluetooth Speaker DBS 011 Review – An affordable Karaoke Speaker

Portable Bluetooth speakers at a budget price are a rarity in the Indian market, and perfectly filling that space is a Digitek’s Tubular Bluetooth Speaker. The speaker has been priced in India at Rs. 3,355 and will be available across the country via both offline and online stores.

The ultra-lightweight speaker is a device targeted at party-animals who love to set-up their base any time and anywhere. It also comes with a bundled Karaoke Mic, which kind of makes it unique in its class. We took this affordable speaker for a spin, and this is what we found out:

Design and Build Quality

The cylindrical-shaped Digitek Tubular speaker has a plastic out shell with two apparent woofers on opposite ends (only one of these actually functions as a woofer, though). The two hooks on either side can be used to attach a strap to carry them around.

All the controls including the ports and speakers are framed in rectangular sheet neatly mounted on top of the tubular body. The speaker features an external TF card, USB socket, mini control keys for selections and volume adjustment that are within the range and easy to operate.

Though the speaker looks promising and stylish, the build quality is where you will be compromising. It feels more like a makeshift DIY solution. On second thought, this seems like a fair compromise at this price point.

Performance and Sound Quality

Our experience with the speaker was a decent one. Sound quality was better than what we’d expected at this price point. The audio output is fairly loud with deep bass and clear treble. The mids and lows sound quite good, however, at maximum volume the speaker we experienced some deterioration in audio quality.

With Digitek DBS 011 you get an impressive array of connectivity options. The tubular speaker is loud enough to jazz up a party in your living room. Connectivity options on the same include Bluetooth, USB, Aux-lead, and microSD card. FM radio is also supported.

Moving on to its controls, the Volume rocker, Bass controller, and the tactile skipping track buttons were responsive, and we had no difficulty in controlling music playback. Also, the battery life of the speaker is good – the 2000mAh battery can give you approx. 4 hours of party time.

The speakers come bundled with a good quality Mic and can thus be used for all karaoke (which is actually fun). Volume control for music also controls the output from the Microphone. Separate controls for both would have been better.

Concluding the review, the Digitek Bluetooth speaker is a powerful and well-balanced audio speaker. It’s kind of unique option in its budget.
