Darwin electric scooters launched in India at affordable prices

The electric mobility sector is booming in India especially the two-wheeler segment with players like TVS, Ather, and Ola leading the market. To join the league, Darwin Platform Group of Companies (DPGC) has launched its own electric scooters in the country. There are three models – Darwin D5, Darwin D7, and Darwin D14.

DPGC targets young buyers with its electric scooters and so, it had the popular Indian boxing champion MC Mary Kom unveil the new e-scooters. The three Darwin scooters come at affordable prices starting rightly from INR 68,000.

The company has taken care of the increasing demand and competition in the e-mobility segment. So, it has aggressively priced Darwin D5 electric scooter at INR 68,000, Darwin D7 at INR 73,000, and the high-end Darwin D14 at INR 77,000 (ex-showroom).

The manufacturer has created the Darwin electric scooters with a design that should appeal to the taste of youngsters. Meanwhile, under the hood, the EV scooters bear Japanese technology internally and the company claims a mileage of 120km on a single charge.

Also, the array of features employed in the three Darwin electric two-wheelers includes keyless entry, speed control gear, regenerative braking, LED display, USB port to charge mobile devices, hazard switch, high-quality suspension, etc.

DPGC Director and Head of Automobile Business, Saurabh Mohan Saxena has commented on the launch, “We are introducing EVs that are at par with Japanese Standards and have got an international quality certification with Quality Austria Central Asia. The company and group would initially invest nearly Rs 450 Crore in this transformation and is taking a comprehensive approach, ranging from research and development to production of green vehicles, which also includes strategic collaborations and partnerships.”
