CMF Phone 2 Pro Roundup: Display, Processor, Cameras, And Everything Else We Know

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is about to reveal a new handset later this month. Dubbed the CMF Phone 2 Pro, the smartphone will hit the market early next month (a couple of days after the launch). Given that it’s the second handset ever and the first ‘Pro’ model by CMF, there’s a lot of anticipation and hype in the market.

While the company has already confirmed a few features, there’s much more to the CMF Phone 2 Pro than in the official statements. So, without any further ado, let’s discuss everything we know about the upcoming handset, including its design, display, processor, cameras, and battery life.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Design

In the first week of April, CMF shared a teaser via its official social media handles. The teaser contained a close-up image of what looks like a screw on the bottom left corner of the handset’s back panel.

Given that the CMF Phone 1 (review) shipped with a customizable back panel (with four screws in total), the Phone 2 Pro should retain the novelty factor. In addition to the removable back panel, users should also be able to attach accessories such as a lanyard loop and a phone wallet.

CMF has also conveyed that the upcoming phone will feature a “textured, tactile finish.” That could be a reference to the textured frame and a better in-hand feel.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Display

Last year, the CMF Phone 1 sported a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Building on that, the Phone 2 Pro should also feature a similar screen.

Contrary to that, some reports indicate the presence of a 6.3-inch OLED screen, with 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz maximum refresh rate, on the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Could it be an attempt to align with the screen sizes of the flagship “Pro” models? Only time will.

What’s certain is that the phone will feature an OLED panel with a smooth refresh rate and decent peak brightness. A new teaser also confirms the presence of a punch-hole notch at the top of the screen and symmetrical bezels on three sides.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Processor

This is one aspect of the phone that isn’t a secret anymore. Most recently, CMF confirmed that the purported smartphone will draw its processing power from the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset.

According to the marketing materials shared by the brand, the Dimensity 7300 Pro should provide up to 10% faster CPU performance, up to 5% graphics improvement, and a 6th-generation NPU with up to 4.8 TOPS AI computing power.

The new chipset also brings a 53% boost in the phone’s network reception and a touch sampling rate of 1,000 Hz. Like the CMF Phone 1, the CMF Phone 2 Pro should also be able to provide 120 fps BGMI gameplay, appealing to enthusiasts and casual gamers alike.

Although these aren’t massive improvements, especially for a “Pro” phone, the CPU and GPU combination still offer decent performance in the segment.

Could the brand equip the handset with the newly-launched Dimensity 7400 SoC? Yes, but we believe that it’s the time and resources it spent on Dimensity 7300’s optimization for 120 fps BGMI gameplay that kept CMF from moving on to the chip’s successor.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Camera

UPDATE (April 18, 2025): The CMF Phone 2 Pro could come with a 50MP (1/1.57″) primary sensor, another 50MP sensor with a 2x telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor with 119.5° field of view.

As seen in the live images, the CMF Phone 2 Pro could come with a triple camera setup, making it a significant upgrade over its predecessor. However, there’s little to no information about the sensor configuration the handset will use.

In an ideal world, the Phone 2 Pro should include a 50MP Sony primary sensor, a secondary ultrawide sensor, and a dedicated telephoto sensor, making it one of the most versatile camera smartphones in the segment.

However, the phone might also retain the dual-camera setup from the CMF Phone 1 and add an ultrawide sensor to the mix (which is more likely to happen). Either way, the phone will ship with a new camera sensor.

On the front, the phone could either retain the 16MP (f/2.0) sensor or feature a new 32MP sensor.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Battery

There’s no word regarding the Phone 2 Pro’s battery. However, it should at least feature a 5,000 mAh cell that supports 33W fast wired charging (as those were the battery specifications of the CMF Phone 1).

We might see a bigger battery or faster charging (more likely), but there’s no solid rumor to support that hypothesis at the moment.

Meanwhile, the brand has confirmed shipping a charger in the box of the CMF Phone 2 Pro, which could be a great selling point for the handset.

CMF Phone 2 Pro Price

The upcoming handset carries a “Pro” moniker, so it could be a bit more expensive than its predecessor. We speculate the CMF Phone 2 Pro will be priced at around Rs. 20,000 for the base variant (the introductory offers might lower the price a bit).
