IPL fans rejoice as one of the world’s most popular domestic cricket leagues is about to kick off on March 22, 2024. Over the next two months, the 17th season of Indian Premiere League will see 10 teams battling for the trophy across 11 venues. Amidst the chatter and banter across social media platforms, the WhistlePodu Army, or CSKians, are rooting for their team, Chennai Super Kings, to defend the title and bring it home in 2024. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2024 Schedule
So far, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the match schedule for the first half of the season, which contains four CSK matches. Between March 22 and April 5, CSK will run on the ground with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The fixtures are as follows.

- Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): To be held on April 5, 2024, in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.

In 2024, CSK will enter the ground with a strong, all-round squad that contains master batters and expert bowlers. Experiences players like Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santer, and Ravidra Jadega form the team’s backbone, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni leads as the captain. It is important to mention that Rachin Ravindra, New Zealand’s star opener, will also play his first IPL from CSK in 2024. Mahendra Singh Dohni will be once again at the helm of things as he will captain the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.

Per a report from Odishatv.in, speedster Matheesha Pathirana has recently suffered a hamstring strain (Grade 1) in his left leg. Last year, Pathirana took 19 wickets in 12 matches, maintaining a decent economy rate, making him one of the critical attackers in the bowling unit. Further, Devon Conway isn’t going to play for the first half of IPL 2024 due to a thumb injury during the recent T20I series against Australia. It is essential to mention that Conway was the leading run-scorer for the team in 2023.
The good news is that former Indian team captain MS Dhoni looked in good shape when he showed up for practice ahead of the tournament. After he led CSK to winning the IPL 2023, this is the first time he has stepped into the nets. Moreover, the team looks in good form, and barring any last-minute changes to the lineup, it should show up strong in its first match against RCB.
