Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot is now available in 46 more countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Laka, Zimbabwe, and India. Previously, X (formerly known as Twitter) announced it for users in the United States. Grok AI is powered by xAI’s large language model, Gork-0. It is one of the few models with access to real-time information via X’s library of information. However, not everyone will be able to use the new AI chatbot. Here’s why.

How Much Does Grok AI Cost?

Grok AI is exclusively available to X’s Premium+ subscribers, the top subscription tier the microblogging platform offers. It costs Rs. 1,300 per month on X for the web. Apart from Grok AI, other subscription benefits include a no-ad experience, the largest reply boost, the ability to edit posts, publish longer posts, undo published posts, and post longer videos.

Further, Premium+ makes users eligible for the Creator Hub, wherein users get paid to post. The subscription also provides specific security and customization features.

How To Use Grok AI?

The only way to use Grok AI is to subscribe to X’s Premium+ model. To do this, users open X on a web browser, hit the Grok AI button in the left panel (under the message button), and click “Subscribe now” at the bottom.

On the following screen, users should go through the included benefits and click on the “Starting at Rs. 1,300” button at the bottom. X will then show the two available payment options, which include Rs. 1,300 per month (which amounts to Rs. 15,600 per year) or Rs. 13,600 per year, which provides a significant discount.

Finally, users should hit the “Subscribe & Pay” button, verify their phone number on the next screen, and add the payment information. They should be able to use the Grok AI chatbot on X. Although the signup process is pretty straightforward, there’s a good chance that Grok might not become an immediate success, primarily because of the higher subscription price.

In India, a user can already get enough AI assistance from chatbots like ChatGPT and Bard, which are entirely free of cost. However, Grok AI’s uncensored and witty responses stand out among others.
