BYD has recently launched a new electric hatchback known as the 2023 Dolphin with the brand’s Marine Aesthetics design language. The 2023 Dolphin electric car is based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 and works on the LFP Blade batteries. As per the claims by the company, the new BYD 2023 Dolphin provides acceleration from 0 to 100kmph within 10.9 seconds and 7.5 seconds for an electric cruising range of 420km to 401km.

The brand new Dolphin 2023 has made its entry into BYD’s home market in China. As of now, the company has no plans of introducing the latest car in other international markets. Nevertheless, keeping the evergrowing presence of the brand in the Indian market, we can say that the company might share some legit information regarding the launch of the 2023 Dolphin electric car in India.

As for the pricing, the BYD 2023 Dolphin electric car is available in the market in the price range of CNY 1,16,800 and 1,36,800.

BYD 2023 Dolphin electric car specifications

The new BYD 2023 Dolphin is based on the company’s Marine Aesthetics design language created by Chief Designer Wolfgang Egger. The car measures 4070/1770/1570mm with a 2700mm wheelbase and supports both 16 and 17-inch wheels. The vehicle is powered by a front permanent magnet synchronous motor with two output options of 70kW with 180Nm and 130kW with 290Nm. It is powered by a 44.9kWh BYD LFP Blade battery pack that supports 60kW fast charging support. a major highlight is that the charger is available from the company.

The exterior of the 2023 Dolphin ships in various color variants including Atlantis Grey, Pupu Pink, Taro Purple, Black, Beibei Grey, Surfing Blue, and Cheese Yellow. The wheelbase of the car measures around 2700mm. The interiors of the car have multiple options for commuters. There is also a flat bottom multi-function steering wheel and next to it is a 5-inch full LCD instrument panel. Additionally, there is a 12.8-inch floating central control screen inside the car.

Commuters get both 4-way and 6-way electronically adjustable passenger seats, a rear center armrest with a cup holder, and the facility of seatbelt warning for the driver. The rear seat passengers also get two cupholders. The front parking radar will let the user make precise parking moves. The electric vehicle uses a front permanent magnet synchronous motor with dual power options.
