ASUS has yet again released an update for the base and Pro variants of Zenfone Max M2. Its been just a few weeks since the previous update for the Zenfone Max Pro M2 which brought camera improvements, security patch, and other Fixes. But this time, the Zenfone Max M2 users will also get the new enhancements.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2
The new update i.e., version 15.2016.1812.179 would be released as a Firmware Over The Air (FOTA). This software update would reach the phones in phases. So, let’s see what fixes and improvements does it bring to your device.
Primarily, this update focuses on enhancing your Zenfone camera experience. It would also improve your device’s touchscreen firmware, polish the text translation, and reduce the noise out of the FM Radio. The December security patch too would be hitting your devices.

ASUS Zenfone Max M2
The vanilla variant too gets camera enhancements. The front camera would be getting EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) support, which minimizes blurring and compensates for device shake while you click photos. The fingerprint sensor would also perform better after this update. Like its big brother, it would be getting the December Android security patch as well.

Steps to Update Zenfone Max Pro M2 Manually:
We’d recommend you wait for the update to reach you via proper channels, but if you are impatient, you may proceed manually.
- Backup your important data before proceeding with the update.
- Know your device model and software version by going to the About section in your device Settings menu.
- Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW, ID->ID. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.
