Apple will be refreshing its entire Mac range of machines with its in-house processors sooner or later. We have already seen Apple M1 silicon-based 13″ MacBook Air, 13″ MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini. And they were positively welcomed by the critics for their performance and endurance capabilities. And it was a no-brainer that the brand is working on the rest of the roster. Well, a fresh report breaks the news on a slimmer and lightweight version of the MacBook Air that will be powered by one such proprietary processor.

Folks privy to the matter has spilled the beans with Bloomberg. According to this report, the tentative launch of this slim and trim MacBook Air will be around H2, 2021, or in 2022.

Here are the deets known at the moment —

This will be a 13-inch MacBook Air but the display will have narrower bezels. Contrary to early reports, there won’t be a 15-inch Air, as the company has apparently shelved the plan for the time being.

Now, the current M1 based 13-inch MacBook Air will still be present in the company’s lineup. And the upcoming laptop will hold a spot above it being a more powerful version.

Besides these, the new machine will support MagSafe magnetic charging and a pair of USB 4 ports.

Just like the return of MagSafe on this one, the company is expected to bring back the SD card slot on the next MacBook Pro (also with its proprietary processors). Meanwhile, the polarizing Touch Bar will be removed, to which we say Good Riddance!

So, you may look forward to a massive update to several of Apple’s Mac products (including a redesigned iMac, and a ‘half-sized’ Mac Pro). Not just that, a VR headset and AirTags (the brand’s Tile competitor) are some of the other anticipated products.
