According to Apple, this is done to accommodate changes in taxes or foreign exchange rates. In the case of India, the former is the reason. There has been a new 2% equalization charge since April 1, 2020 (plus the existing 18% GST).

The revised price tier charts and instructions have been shared with app developers. In addition to this, the new pricing details will be available over the Pricing and Availability section in the Apple Developer portal.

Notably, the developer proceeds will be calculated based on the tax-exclusive price and adjusted accordingly. The company allows devs to change the price of their apps and in-app purchases (including auto-renewable subscriptions) at any time in App Store Connect. They can also choose to preserve the prices for existing subscriptions.
