In a move that aligns with its broader adoption of USB-C technology, Apple has unveiled a USB-C charging case for its immensely popular AirPods Pro 2nd-genration. This development aims to provide a seamless charging experience for users, especially those who also own the newly announced iPhone 15.

The shift to USB-C for AirPods Pro charging reflects Apple’s ongoing transition toward this universal connector, already embraced by the Mac, iPad, iPhone, and even accessories like the Apple TV 4K‘s remote control.

During the presentation, Apple emphasized the convenience of this change. iPhone 15 owners will now be able to charge both their smartphone and AirPods Pro using the same cable, simplifying the charging setup. Additionally, Apple revealed that users will have the option to charge their AirPods Pro directly from their iPhone.

While the AirPods Pro is adopting USB-C, Apple has not disclosed plans for a USB-C revision for the regular AirPods or the high-end AirPods Max headphones. Apple’s commitment to advancing and unifying its product ecosystem remains evident as it gradually transitions key products to the versatile USB-C standard.

Apple AirPods Pro 2: India Price

The AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Case (USB-C) is priced at Rs. 24,900. These will be available starting September 22nd.
