As rumored, Apple introduced its newest MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display. It replaces the 15-inch predecessor. But, that’s not it. The new laptop brings quite a few interesting changes that try to address the issues the previous MacBook Pro had. This includes the redesigned keyboard, better speakers, and 80-percent improvement in the performance front.
Apple also announced that the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR will start retailing in the US from December.
Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro Features
The glaring change in the new MacBook Pro is its display and the keyboard. At a 16-inch span, it covers a resolution of 3072×1920, a higher pixel density of 226 PPI, P3 Wide color gamut and a peak brightness of 500-nits. The bezels are relatively slimmer.
Apple was criticized for the Butterfly keyboard design in the precursor. So, it has switched it for the new Magic keyboard. This one employs the Scissor mechanism, which is more commonly used. It delivers 1mm of key travel. Other notable novelties are the physical Escape key, an inverted-“T” arrangement for the arrow keys and a Touch Bar along with Touch ID.
Right alongside the keypad stays the 6-speaker sound system backed by two “force canceling woofers.” They are meant to cancel out each other’s vibrations and offer better bass, less distortion, and keyboard rattling. Apple goes one step further and vaunts the three-microphone array.
