Motorola Moto G 3rd generation: review, specification and price in India

Moto G series phones have been game changers for Motorola. Company revived its fortune in India by selling unprecedented number of Moto G series phones. Motorola is once again out to test the waters with the next iteration in Moto G 3rd generation. Here’s our review of Moto G 3rd generation:

Persisting with legacy of its predecessors Moto G 3rd Gen too features a 5-inch HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD capacitive display with 294ppi. Like all recent Motorola branded phones, this too comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection along with Ipx7 certification of waterproofing. The phone can withstand upto 3ft. water for about half an hour.

Phone’s ability to handle tough task with ease makes it the king of phone under Rs. 13k category. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core 64-bit processor, which is assisted by Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. On the software front, almost stock Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop) operating system is smoothly running on it for now and the phone has also been approved for Marshmallow update. Additionally, Moto’s apps like Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Quick Capture etc. come preloaded.

Today camera specs are one of the primary factors which influences buying decision. This 3rd generation phone wears a 13MP autofocus rear camera at the back with an f/2.0 aperture, IR filter and color-balancing flash. On the front, the device flashes a 5MP camera with a wide-angle lens for clicking selfies. The budget smartphone comes with 16GB internal memory with an expansion slot through which it can be bumped up to 32GB.

The new G-Series device draw power from its 2,470mAh non-removable battery that for a moderate user can last a day. A wide array of connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB are offered here.

This phone will line up in the front row if we have to pick list of best value for money phone. It comes packed with good specification and decent looks. Its water-resistance certification further boasts its credibility. The Moto G 3rd Generation price in India is 12,999 INR. Check our price comparison tab

Moto G (3rd gen) review

The 3rd gen Moto G is the most capable member of the popular product family to date. Thanks to its zippy chipset, excellent camera and battery life, up to date stock Android, and superb build quality, the newcomer is also one of the most appealing entries in its price range.

Unlike last year's rather conservative second generation, Motorola has really pushed the envelope with the latest Moto G. Newly introduced features like Moto Maker and IPX7 water resistance help the smartphone stand out in its overly crowded segment. read more →

Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) Review

This updated Moto G faces fiercer competition than it ever has before, and it may well lose its hard-fought, low-cost crown someday. Today is not that day. Even with outstanding devices like Alcatel's Idol 3 being sold straight to consumers, the Moto G still stands tall as the cheapest Android phone you can buy without feeling like you're missing out on something. Make no mistake: Motorola had to make plenty of compromises to be able to sell this thing as cheaply as it is. read more →

  • Fast, fluid performance
  • Camera is a big leap over last year's model
  • Finally has US LTE support
  • That price!
  • Camera is weak in low light
  • Notification light is gone
  • Base model only has 1GB of RAM

Motorola Moto G (2015) review: Giving you the right upgrade

Moto G (2015) is better than 2014 variant with tweaks and additions that sound just about right. Stock Android is always better than customised ones and that reflects in the phone's overall stability. Cameras deliver more (than before) and there's 4G support on hand as well. It's not a like-for-like match with the Xiaomi Mi 4i but options like expanding memory and easy availability with IPv57 surety makes us forget those deficiencies. Buy this for the value and performance assurance with pure Android promise. read more →

  • Affordable
  • stable performer
  • upgraded cameras
  • quality build and IPV57
  • Average battery life
  • lacks image stabilisation
  • 720p display

Motorola Moto G (2015) Review

It’s only getting tougher for phones in the mid-range category to make an indelible mark in the industry, especially when the last few months have yielded some awesome and value-conscious phones already. For the third-generation Moto G, however, it simply reaffirms that it’s the phone to beat in this increasingly crowded ‘premium’ mid-range space.

At the very least, you’ll only need to shell out $179.99 to pick it up unlocked with 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM. read more →
