Google Nexus 6 Review and Specifications: The Best of Flagship Smartphones Ever

The tech giant Google has added another device to its lineage of the flagship device Nexus. Motorola has been fortunate enough to be the creator of the all new Nexus 6. A powerful flagship smartphone, with trendsetting specifications and glorious looks is out in the run to demolish the rivals. You can buy Google Nexus 6 online at various e-commerce sites like flipkart. Check out the Google Nexu 6 specifications and review below.

Hardware Configuration and Memory

Google NEXUS 6 is a 4G LTE enabled device powered by an Snapdragon 805, 2.7 GHz Krait 450 processor and has 3 GB RAM. This makes the device swift and a quick performer. Speaking of graphics acceleration, a dedicated Adreno 420 GPU takes it to a new high. A great display output, with an efficient visibility in the daylight makes it a tough rival. NEXUS 6 is available with 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants.

A non-removable 3220 mAh Li-Po battery powers up the set, which could be a little bit on the pro side for the long run. This should be good enough for 330 hours of charged up company in standby mode. As Motorola claims, the device is ready to serve 24 Hours of 3G talktime in a single charge.

Camera and Display

Moving on to the camera, a 13-megapixel primary camera, with touch focus and face detection make it the best in class camera. Excellent imagery seems no real task with the NEXUS 6. In a selfie inspired environment, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera is an effective lens for video calling and selfies.

A 6 inch AMOLED display with multipoint capacitive touchscreen is a great feature of NEXUS 6. The display has a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and provides a great visibility in all kinds of ambient light. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 guards the display against screen damages and scratches.

Software and Other Features

The NEXUS 6 is juiced up with the latest Android platform, Lollipop v5.0. This is nonetheless one of the greatest specifications of the device. The device is also Wifi enabled along with Bluetooth v4.1, GLONAS and A-GPS. Accelerometer and proximity sensors add up to the main board configuration.

Google Nexus 6 best price in India is around 44000. NEXUS 6 is a plus five against its rivals for smartphone enthusiasts. No disturbing flaws about the device, and shear excellence define the package. Worth a shot phone by Google. Totally amazing firsthand experience with the magic phone.

Motorola Nexus 6 review: Setting the tone

Motorola Nexus 6 is the right candidate to carry the Android 5.0 Lollipop flagship banner. It looks good, it's brimming with the latest hardware, and it's solidly put together. Thanks to its massive 6" display and that large Nexus logo on its back, the phablet is not lacking in presence either - just like a flagship should.

Motorola and Google took their time with the Nexus 6 and many will find that the end result is well worth it. read more →

Nexus 6 review: Google shows it can make a big-screen phone

In general, Google's first shot at a large-screened device (not to mention its first Nexus collaboration with Motorola) is a good one. The Nexus 6 comes with features that the Moto X should have had in the first place, including a powerful next-gen Snapdragon processor, improved camera, new version of Android and a premium design. Watching movies on the N6 is a treat, with loud, front-facing stereo speakers and a Quad HD display. read more →

Google Nexus 6 Review

Its gigantic size puts it into the phablet category, but as a phablet, it lacks some additional enhancements to really make good use of the real estate it has to work with. One particular thing that keeps coming back to mind is how it doesn’t offer some kind of optimized layout for one-handed usage, which is something that other phablets take into consideration and offer. In tradition, we’re just left to hoping that future updates will address these minor issues – though, we’ll certainly admit that the experience caters more to smaller sized screens.

Thinking more about the Nexus 6, you could certainly pick it up with no regrets, but for a little bit more out of your pockets, you can treat yourself to the Galaxy Note 4, which comes with some bonus, phablet-like features to complement its package, as well as the signature S Pen stylus for drawing and note-taking. read more →

  • Sturdier construction than the previous two Nexus smartphones
  • Quad-HD resolution gives its screen plenty of detail
  • Support for multiple users with Android 5.0 Lollipop for smartphones
  • Camera captures some nice looking photos and videos
  • Dual front-firing speakers have a potent punch
  • No enhancements for a device pegged as a phablet
  • Phone’s plastic body feels extremely slippery
  • AMOLED screen is rather weak with its brightness output
  • Slow focus with video recording

Google Nexus 6 review: Prepare to pay for the biggest Android Lollipop powerhouse

It's rare to see a flagship make such a dramatic jump in size by itself. These days, it's more common for manufacturers to make incremental increases with every new iteration, or release a separate "mega" version of their marquee handset. So, when Google increased its Nexus by a whole inch, we knew it was a bold move. It took its charmingly affordable handset and turned it into a niche big-screen phablet with a price jump to match. read more →

  • Google Nexus 6 has a razor-sharp and expansive display.
  • A top-of-the-line Snapdragon 805 processor and the latest Lollipop OS.
  • An OIS-equipped camera that takes great outdoor photos.
  • Still the most powerful pure Android handset available.
  • Nexus is heavier and wider than most big smartphones.
  • Its call volume is low on audio speaker.
  • It's the most expensive Nexus yet.

Heavy phone with heavy speces

I was waiting for Google nexus 6 for its availability since long and purchased it as soon as it became available on Flipkart. Broad specifications are very attractive as it almost 6" display, 3GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory with 13 MP rear camera, 3200 non removable mAh battery. There is no scope for enhancement of the external memory. The box packaging is very good and as soon as opened the box, the device is just come to your hands. Apart from the device, the box contains one turbocharger and one moto headsets. A beautiful sim removal pin is also provided in between the paper work. The built quality is awesome and only having two physical buttons, one for power on/off and another is volume rocker on the right middle side. The device contains dual speakers and the nano single sim compartment is at the top of the device. Top of the device also contains 3.5 mm jack and bottom of the device contains micro USB port. No physical button or any other position on the left side of the device. The back of the device is equipped with a 13 megapixel camera and nexus with moto dimple. The camera of the device is rounded with a dual LED ring flash. The device is sufficiently rounded from the back side therefore to protect the device from the scratches on the back side; it is recommended to use supportive back cover. Overall the built quality is nice and attractive. I have chosen cloud white colour but still the front of the device is black on the screen corner portions. The device is covered with a metal ring frame and gives a feel of perfect grip on the hands.
As soon as I power on the device, Google mark illuminated and carries to the world of android lollipop 5.0. At the first boot, it asks for NFC transfer of the data from old device and obtains all the data and applications of the old device. Experience of lollipop 5.0 is very good but the only lacking for creation of the folders in the app drawer therefore, one has to keep all the apps scattered.
Brightness of the phone is very good and the system does not lag on any operation of the phone. The operation buttons are provided on the bottom side of the screen and unlike kitkat the home, back and details operation buttons are not placed on the below of the screen. The phone is equipped with two front speakers one is on the top and another on the bottom which gives a good sound quality of the phone.
As, earlier to this phone, I was using Sony xperia z ultra having 6.4” screen, therefore, using and holding this phone may be felt a bulky device in comparison to other devices.
Still with all the pluses of the phone, I would like to state here that the price of the phone is somewhat on a higher side. It is available @ Rs. 43K and I expect such device @ 30K.
Even though I will recommend this phone.

  • Brightness of the phone is very good and the system does not lag on any operation of the phone.
  • The phone is equipped with two front speakers one is on the top and another on the bottom which gives a good sound quality of the phone.
  • The 13MP camera is providing nice quality photos both on the day light and flash light. At the maximum zoom also, the photo pixels do not tear up.
  • The notification style of the android lollipop is absolutely fresh and the pending notifications appear on screen even if the phone is locked.
  • One can view the notifications by just scroll down from any of the screen and by scrolling once more; the quick setting panel appears with quick direct setting buttons.
  • The operation buttons are provided on the bottom side of the screen and unlike kitkat the home, back and details operation buttons are not placed on the below of the screen.
  • The front camera is only 2 MP and I found picture quality of front camera not up to the mark.
  • The phone is having weight of 184 gms which is quite heavier due to long screen size of the phone.

Motorola for Nexus 6 and LG for Nexus 5 and Nexus 4

This is something which is very interesting about Google , it keeps on experimenting . Even with a huge success of Nexus 4 and 5 , they gave the Nexus 6 to Motorola for the hardware . We can say they want to come up with something new , well if we see the model there have not been much change . So the question is Why Motorola and not LG .
For the Indian market , currently Motorola is doing quite well , and in a certain way they have created an impact in the mind of the customers and customers are moving from Samsung to Motorola . As per me Google also wants to grab the opportunity by coming out with Motorola Nexus 6 .
